About Us

Sugarbush Kennel Club’s premier events are the two all-breed dog shows, obedience trials and rally events held as part of the Chagrin Valley Summer Classic. We also hold two puppy matches each year-a Winter match at the Green Road Armory in Highland Hills, Ohio, and our traditional 4th of July Match at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton Ohio.

Funds raised from these events support club operations and allow us to provide support to various dog-related services in Geauga County. Most recently, we responded to an assistance request to provide monetary support for life-saving surgery to an elderly person’s dog. The dog is doing well!

Membership Requirements

Membership is open to all persons eighteen years of age or older who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the club. Each potential member must attend two (2) meetings and submit a completed membership application form with endorsements from two current members of the club. Completed applications are read at two consecutive meetings with a vote taken at the second reading; a simple majority is required to elect an applicant to membership.

In order to serve as an officer or director, a member must attend a minimum of four (4) meetings and one (1) work activity of the club.
